# Kit 3: The Ranked-Digest Table

**Use when:** the inbound pile landed and you need to know what wants your judgment before lunch.

```
What arrived | What it asks of me | By when | Decision or FYI | My call
[One line per item] | [The ask, stated plainly. If you can't find one, write unknown] | [Date] | [Decision or FYI] | [Approve / Defer / File / Forward / Reply / Delete]
```

A filled example row:

```
Q3 vendor invoice, no message | Approve or dispute payment | End of month | Decision | Approve, matches contract
```

Rank the rows by need date and stakes, never by who sent it. The director's newsletter waits for the intern's decision. An item with an unknown ask goes to the top: it is a time bomb until you know what it wants. FYIs get filed, forwarded, or deleted in the same ten minutes. Decisions get the reading.

A synthetic 40-email inbox to practice on ships in the kit's `data/` folder as `inbox-40.csv`.
